Privacy Policy

On this website, for example when you book a demo or email us, we decide what information we collect and why. For that information we are the responsible party.

On the Learnesso platform, each school decides what information it collects about its learners, parents and staff. The school is the responsible party, and we are its operator: we process that information on the school's behalf, only to provide the service and as the school instructs. The privacy policy inside the platform, at app.learnesso.com/privacy, explains that processing in detail. Questions about a school's records are best sent to the school first.

• When you book a demo: your name, email address, school name, your role, the number of learners, your phone number if you choose to give it, any notes you add, and the time you choose.
• When you contact us: your name, contact details and whatever you tell us in your message.
• Technical information: when you visit, our hosting provider records standard information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time, to keep the website secure and working.

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and our fonts are served from our own website rather than a third party.

The booking calendar on our “Book a demo” section is provided by Cal.com. It may use its own cookies or similar storage so the calendar works and your booking goes through. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the booking calendar may then not work.

• To schedule and hold your demo, including sending the confirmation and the video-call link.
• To answer your questions and follow up about bringing Learnesso to your school.
• To keep this website secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
• To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

We rely on your consent when you choose to book or contact us, on steps you ask us to take before a possible agreement, on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and securing our website, and on legal obligations.

We will only contact you about your demo and your enquiry. We won't add you to a marketing mailing list unless you agree, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run this website, such as:

• Vercel, which hosts this website.
• Cal.com, which runs our booking calendar.
• Google, whose Calendar and Meet we use to schedule and hold demos.
• Our email provider, for messages you send us and our replies.

These providers may only use the information to provide their service to us. We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

Some of our providers, including Vercel, Cal.com and Google, may store or process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we use providers that are bound by laws, binding corporate rules or agreements giving protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

We keep enquiry and booking information for as long as we need it to arrange your demo and follow up on your enquiry. After that we delete or de-identify it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer or your school goes on to use Learnesso. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access limited to people who need it, and reputable service providers.

On the platform, each school's staff see only their own school, access is restricted by role, and payments are handled by Paystack, so card details never touch Learnesso. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

This website is aimed at schools and the adults who run them, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. Learner information on the platform is provided by the school or by a parent or guardian, as explained in the platform's privacy policy.

Under POPIA you may:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
• ask us to correct, update or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
• object to us processing your information, including for direct marketing;
• withdraw a consent you have given; and
• complain to the Information Regulator.

To make a request, email info@learnesso.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days. See our POPIA page for more on how to make a request or a complaint.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with the date it was last updated, will always be on this page.
